While identifying Model Pulse Villages in the district, ICAR to involve villages that have degraded land identified by the Department of Land Resources (DoLR) and suitable for pulses cultivation.
3. Using Krishi Mapper application and monitoring through Krishi Mapper is mandatory.
4. Focus may also be given on bio fortified, climate resilient and high yielding varieties of less than 10 years.
5. Under Demonstrations, full package kit like seed, lNM, IPM material, to be given to the farmer at the time of sowing.
6. Seeds Hubs may be encouraged to produce certified seed in these Model Pulse Villages.
Key points:
1. In every Village Cluster, 150 ha (375 farmers) including all three cropping seasons shall be covered under demonstrations (150 ha/village/year)2. There shall be major focus on priority pulses crops viz., pigeon pea and black gram (kharif), and blackgram (rabi) depending upon their growing season in the selected states and districts.
